PURPOSE
Since the majority of ischemic stroke is embolic and due to cardiovascular disorders, integration of diagnostic and treatment options between cardiology and neurology becomes critical

OBJECTIVES
As a result of attending this education activity, participants will be able to:

  • Demonstrate better embolic and paradoxical embolic stroke prevention through implementation of and integrated stroke prevention approach
  • Develop and increased awareness and recognition of brain imaging technology
  • Expand knowledge of cardiac ultrasound methodologies
  • Discuss and review recent stroke prevention information
  • Discuss and review new treatment modalities for embolic stroke prevention
